Festival in Lethmere

The first letter goes to Lethmere on the night of the summer solstice, and the man it is addressed to has gone missing at his own festival. Finding him takes a drinking contest, a candy fox, a snail derby and a dragon, and he turns up in the one shape nobody thought to check.

FROM THE FIRST PAGE

“You are one
of the steps.
Try to be a short one.”

These are the records of its first special task force in two hundred years, which the Route Book keeps whether anyone asks it to or not.

The Special
Task Force.

Hired by the book
before anyone applied.

Corin VaelPERSONNEL / 01

Dorian EverhartPERSONNEL / 02

Dorian Everhart

Human of Wyrmsfoot, definitely not a sorcerer

Came for the cerulean scroll the gods promised him. Travels with Celestine Bonbon, a floating rabbit who expects to be addressed directly.

Agata GiadaPERSONNEL / 03

Agata Giada

Human of Monteluna

Keeps pencils in her hair and a notebook within reach. When she draws something, it has a habit of happening.

Horatio BlacksmithPERSONNEL / 04

Horatio Blacksmith

Half-orc, book bearer

Reads every contract down to the last paragraph and was quietly disappointed that nobody tested him. Carries the Route Book.

Finbarr DoomwingPERSONNEL / 05

Finbarr Doomwing

Pixie, the fifth applicant

Was supposed to attend his interview by crystal ball. The crystal ball stayed dark. His name is on a door upstairs anyway.

THE SPECIAL DELIVERY TASK FORCEThe first in two hundred years, which makes them the most experienced team on staff.

BEHIND THE COUNTER

The Staff.

The people who keep
the post office running.

Margaret Quill

Everyone calls her Maggie. She wears a faded red uniform with hiking boots and always has a pot of tea on the stove. By her own count she is about two thousand years old in Sylvanthe time.

Portobello Grimm

HEAD OF COMPLIANCE AND LEGAL

Portobello Grimm

A large green mushroom who waits in the darkest corner of the cellar and speaks in numbered paragraphs. He would like to be called Mr. Grimm.

Talon Mirrash

SECURITY OFFICER

Talon Mirrash

Trains new couriers in the Void and introduces himself with a knife at their throat. He comes from Gallow’s End and sends Mr. Grimm no regards of any kind.
